Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Brazil international winger Savinho from Manchester City for £75 million, with the deal potentially rising to £85 million through additional performance-based add-ons.
The 20-year-old winger has marked the start of his new chapter at Spurs by requesting to be known as Sávio going forward, and will have that name on the back of his shirt. The transfer represents a record sale for Manchester City, who purchased him from Troyes in 2024 for £30.8 million just two years ago.
Savinho's move comes as Manchester City move to replace him with Allan Elias, a 22-year-old winger from Palmeiras. City have agreed a deal worth £34 million for Elias, who has made 96 appearances for the Brazilian club, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists. Elias is yet to play for Brazil's national team. His arrival at City effectively paves the way for Savinho's departure to Tottenham.
The signing comes at a busy time in the transfer window for multiple clubs. Manchester City are also in advanced negotiations to sell midfielder Nico González to Newcastle for around £50 million, a price similar to what City paid Porto for him in January 2025. City are expected to use funds from these sales to pursue other targets, including Chelsea's Enzo Fernández.
Tottenham's manager De Zerbi has expressed confidence in the new signing, saying Sávio will bring "imagination and quality" to the club. The winger's arrival strengthens Spurs' attacking options as they look to compete for Champions League qualification this season.
The deal completes a significant reshaping of attacking resources at both clubs. Manchester City have been active in the transfer market, securing midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for approximately £81.4 million plus additional fees, and made their only senior signing so far with the £116 million purchase of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
Both Manchester City and Tottenham have also been monitoring Liverpool's Cody Gakpo, with sources suggesting Liverpool may be open to his departure if they complete other attacking signings. Liverpool are pursuing their own transfer targets, including Brighton's Yankuba Minteh and Paris Saint-Germain players Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola.
Sávio will provide Tottenham with additional depth in wide positions, bringing experience from competing at the highest level in English and European football. His ability to play on either flank and create scoring opportunities makes him a valuable addition to the squad as Spurs navigate the demands of multiple competitions this season.
