Romania restarted its film production incentive program with a 30% cash rebate after suspending the scheme because of unpaid debts. The revamped program aims to attract foreign productions back to the country, which experienced a prolonged period of reduced filming activity.
The announcement comes as the Transilvania International Film Festival prepares to begin, with the domestic film industry expressing renewed optimism about the incentive's return. Netflix series "Wednesday" previously filmed in Romania, representing the type of international production the country hopes to attract with the relaunched rebate program.
