The US military struck the oil tanker Settebello in the Gulf of Oman on Tuesday after determining it violated a US naval blockade, according to US Central Command's announcement Wednesday. The strike disabled the vessel off the coast of Oman.
India reported that three of its sailors went missing following the incident, while 21 crew members were rescued. The disappearances have prompted diplomatic objections from the Indian government over the military action and the fate of its citizens.
