AMC held a premiere party for The Vampire Lestat at New York's Beacon Theatre on June 2, where star Sam Reid performed six original songs from the series in character as vampire rocker Lestat de Lioncourt. The event featured Reid in full costume as the show's central character.
The relaunch transforms the series into a music-focused production featuring 20 original songs. The network has accompanied the rebrand with marketing tie-ins designed to promote the rock concert elements of the show. Reid, who does not perform professionally as a musician, trained for the role of the vampire turned rock star.
