Starz has ordered a new Power franchise series titled Power: Legacy, the network confirmed. The show will reunite actors Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr., who previously led separate spinoff series within the Power universe. The network ordered eight episodes for the first season.
The series will follow Tommy Egan, played by Sikora, and Tariq St. Patrick, played by Rainey Jr., the son of Tommy's late friend James Ghost St. Patrick. Both actors have established their characters through previous Power spinoffs. Sikora starred in Power Book IV: Force, while Rainey Jr. headlined Power Book II: Ghost.
The Power franchise began with the original series that premiered in 2014 and concluded in 2020. The show's success led Starz to develop multiple spinoff series exploring different characters and storylines within the same universe. The network has built an extensive franchise around the original concept, with various series focusing on different periods and characters from the Power world.
Power: Legacy represents another expansion of the franchise, bringing together characters who had been developed separately in their own series. The reunion of Tommy and Tariq connects storylines that have run parallel through different Power spinoffs. Tommy Egan was a central character in the original Power series before receiving his own spinoff, while Tariq's story began in the original series and continued as the focus of Power Book II: Ghost.
The greenlight comes as Starz continues to invest in the Power brand, which has become one of the network's most successful properties. The franchise has maintained a dedicated audience across its various iterations. Production details and a premiere date for Power: Legacy have not been announced.
