The Trump administration has abandoned a $1.8 billion compensation fund designed to provide payouts to individuals who claimed the government weaponized federal agencies against them. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the decision while testifying before House lawmakers.
The fund faced significant opposition from Republican lawmakers who objected to its scope and structure. Following the pushback from members of the president's own party, the Justice Department decided not to proceed with the program.
