A Florida Department of Environmental Protection report identified 103 critical Jupiter Island town assets at risk of flooding, including 68 stormwater facilities, 17 historic sites, conservation lands, and key evacuation routes. The report warns the town's Emergency Operations Center could see up to 9 feet of floodwater. Commissioner Marshall Field said the findings confirm what town leaders already knew, which is why they requested the assessment.

Field said the goal is to document risks, build a roadmap for improvements, and compete for state and federal funding. A funding window opened June 1 for applications this year, and the town intends to apply. Field said evacuation orders would be issued well before floodwaters threaten roadways, and the town has a backup facility on the mainland to maintain operations during emergencies. He said the town is embedded with the county's emergency response.
